Lisa A. Alzo Announces Launch of Research, Write, Connect Academy

ITHACA, NY – Research, Write, Connect is a brand-new online Academy brought to you by genealogist and author, Lisa Alzo. Lisa has over 28 years’ experience as an avid genealogist and researcher and possesses an MFA degree in creative nonfiction writing. With her vast writing and teaching experience, Lisa brings her knowledge to the forefront when she teaches her online courses. The Research, Write, Connect Academy was created to allow for a dynamic learning experience for genealogists, family historians, and aspiring writers and students by facilitating their journey into the past and connection to the future.

The Write Stuff: Telling the Story is the first course being offered at the Research, Write, Connect Academy. This online course is a self-paced learning experience with opportunity for meaningful discussion and feedback with coach/instructor and fellow participants/classmates.  Each week, videos full of information and writing tips will bring the corresponding lesson to life.  There will be a new writing assignment each week and techniques taught to improve your writing skills. From week one where you’ll learn setting writing goals, to week five where you’ll put all the skills you have learned throughout the course together to shape your story, you will be engaged and your writing will come alive.

This course is also offered with a Homeschool version where students will learn to write and become better writers by the course’s end. And the best part is since it is self-paced, there are no set dates and you can begin the course whenever it is convenient for you!

This course and the homeschool course both have a private Facebook group which is like having a private classroom during and even after the course is complete. You will have the support of other course participants along with your instructor and writing coach, Lisa Alzo.

The online platform will also serve as the “workshop” space where you can post your writing for feedback as well as read and comment on the projects of your fellow writers.

This is just the beginning, Lisa will bring you even more learning opportunities in the coming months and the Research, Write, Connect Academy will be your go-to place to take valuable and engaging courses.

Come check us out today.

What makes Lisa Alzo the best person to teach me how to write?

“I have the ability to read someone’s narrative and help them develop their voice.  I am a working writer who experiences the same struggles they do (how to start a project when you have a blank page, how to beat writer’s block, scheduling time to write, overcoming the perils of perfectionism to trust in the narrative).  I have worked on large projects (books) and small projects (articles, blog posts, family stories) and can show them how to write for their intended audience. My courses are designed to be intimidation-free and I provide constructive and honest feedback while encouraging them to keep writing.  I am committed to seeing my students succeed and reach their writing goals.”
