A Birthday Tribute to Dad
Today is my father’s birthday. This is the second year he has not been here for us to celebrate. Dad never fussed much over his birthday. He always scolded me for “wasting my money” on cards or presents, but I believe that secretly it meant the world to him that I remembered. The one thing I know Dad did like on his birthday is ice cream cake. So, every year we would enjoy the cold tasty treat of ice cream.
I wish we could be having ice cream together today. But since we can’t, I will just say I am thinking of you, Dad, and I miss you. Happy Birthday!
Here’s a pciture of me dancing with my father at my high school graduation party (many years ago!) One of my favorite pictures.
